Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing is a popular treatment which helps in reducing facial wrinkles and other skin irregularities such as acne scars and blemishes.
The technique involves emitting short and concentrated pulsating beams of light on the area to be treated. The most commonly used laser for skin resurfacing are:

1. CO2 Laser
2. Erbium Fibre Laser

Each one of these lasers work by removing the damaged skin cells on the surface of the skin. Erbium laser is more effective for treating moderately deep lines and wrinkles especially on the face, hands, neck, or chest. The additional advantage of this laser is minimal discomfort and burning of surrounding tissue. There might be some side effects such as bruising, swelling, and redness, however these subside eventually. So, the recovery time is comparatively faster than that with CO2 laser resurfacing.
